This is Australia: Hunter Valley NSW

Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley lived up to its excellent reputation when we visited for 4 enjoyable days. Autumn blue skies and crisp nights were perfect accompaniments to some fabulous reds and whites.

Friends know it’s reds that I’m partial to and I can often be relied upon to exit a winery with a few good bottles. But, it would be a diabolical sin not to broaden the palate with some excellent Hunter Valley Semillon and Verdalho.

Without further adieu, I give you these wineries.

Kelman Wines – such fabulous service and great wines that I walked out with a mix of whites, reds and a most interesting muscat. https://www.kelmanvineyard.com.au
Kelman Wines – worth checking out their very appealing vineyard housing lifestyle where you can buy a house in the vineyard. A weekender?

Hunter Valley country roads lead to wonderful wineries
Expect to walk out wobbly after a visit here.
My wine glass runneth over at Hanging Tree Winery
Never had a better fit than at Broke Mt Winery. A cracking effort by the French staff.
Still loyal to a good shiraz at Broke Mt winery
Audrey Wilkinson – best views in the Hunter
You can go anywhere when you’re not in a hurry – road to Audrey Wilkinson
Need to be a bit shouty about this winery and its pinot shiraz
I’m reading the room here at Oakvale Wines and semillon is coming up trumps
End of a long and fruitful tasting
Would be nice to get married in a vineyard. This is Petersens Winery chapel.
Love at first bite – Binnorie Dairy – their cheese is excellent

Was a good time. My wine cellar will thank me.

Where we stayed: We parked our camper trailer at Wine Country Tourist Park with its friendly staff, clean amenities, camp kitchen with fire and within easy reach of wineries.
