Australia’s oldest wine region, the Hunter Valley lived up to its excellent reputation when we visited for 4 enjoyable days. Autumn blue skies and crisp nights were perfect accompaniments to some fabulous reds and whites.
Friends know it’s reds that I’m partial to and I can often be relied upon to exit a winery with a few good bottles. But, it would be a diabolical sin, whilst here, not to broaden the palate with some excellent Semillon and Verdalho.
Without further adieu, I give you these wineries.

Was a good time and my fledgling wine cellar will thank me.
Where we stayed: We parked our camper trailer at Wine Country Tourist Park with its friendly staff, clean amenities, camp kitchen with fire and within easy reach of wineries.
I was drinking out of Hanging Tree Winery glasses only last night. My daughter had her wedding there. Ot’s a firm favourite.

Really enjoyed Hanging Tree Winery, including the resident dogs. Great choice for a wedding.

I’ll have to drink warm reds in June! The wine is stashed in the car and the driver is complaining that the car’s sitting a bit low!
